Location
This photo was taken on a local road, nearby a racetrack. I’ve always thought of a photo there as it had a good few possible compositions.Time
The image was taken at golden hour in the winter time. The low lying sun lasted so long as I was taking multiple images and the light as ever changing.Lighting
The golden hour lighting through the trees on the side made for some interesting shadows over the ice covered road coupled with the golden sun shining through helped add even more drama to the scene.Equipment
This was actually the first panning shot ever taken with my new DJI Mavic Air 2, I coupled the drone with the DJI ND64 for this shot.Inspiration
I have always been fascinated with motion in my photography, I do some motorsport work and try to capture all the drama, movements and features to show the demands on a vehicle when being driven enthusiastically. The drone allowed me to capture it from a perspective that had never been possible for me before!Editing
Just some Lightroom editing, the sunlight was very softly lighting the scene and was easy to work with dropping the highlights to control it, some work with colours to balance the sunlight and the a few adjustments to the curve to bring the mid tones up.In my camera bag
I always carry my DSLR, Canon 5D4, Canon 50mm F1.8, Canon 24-105mm F4L, Canon 70-200mm F2.8L III, various LEE filters. Also a DJI Mavic Air 2 including DJI ND Filters.Feedback
Get out and experiment, find a scene and make a composition you find interesting, then add the vehicle in and track it. Then adjust your shutter speed to give you the desired effect and use ND filters as required depending on the lighting you have at that time.
