Location
This photo was taken on a dog training session in Inverness, Scotland. It was shot on a hill packed full of heather as the dog worked through it.Time
This photo was taken during golden hour, I had been photographing all that day where it was cloudy and luckily I got a break to take this photo!Lighting
This was all natural lighting with only minimum correction to the colours.Equipment
I used a 5D Mark III paired with a 70-200mm f2.8L lens, it was also taken hand held.Inspiration
I love capturing photos of dogs when they are out working, I like it to be natural and I try to position myself uninteresting areas to create eye catching compositions.Editing
Basic Lightroom editing, fixed colours and only brightened up the scene. In my camera bag
I carry my 5D Mark III, a 70-200mm f2.8L, 24-105mm F4L and a 50mm 1.8 STM.Feedback
Best advice is try to get down to the same level as your subject, regardless of terrain, I always try and freeze the moment so always attempt to shoot above 1/1600. Keep moving to areas where you know the subject will move through and position yourself in a best attempt to capture. Patience, it takes time!
