This photo was taken in the woods of Espoo, in Southern Finland.Time
We were walking in the woods on a cold day in December, this time of the year the sunset is very early on in the afternoon In Finland. So the the time I took this photo is about about three pm as the sun has not set just yet.Lighting
I tried to capture the rocks in front even thought the scene was backlit with the sun slowly setting in the backgroundEquipment
I shot this with SONY SLT-A65V, with SiGma Zoom 118-200mm, I did not use a tripod.Inspiration
The rugged beauty of nature was present in this area. The old pine trees and moss-covered cliffs were a beautiful sight against the setting sun. The landscape was mystical and sighed past. How long has this bedrock been here. What can be found between those rocks. The landscape was beautiful and enigmatic.I tried to capture that.Editing
I do post- processing on all my photos. The purpose is to bring out what I think is an essential part of the picture, I usually check the exposure and contrast and that the colors match what I saw. I don’t like over-corrected photos because I want them to reflect what I saw. The beauty of nature is already enough, but a little filing is needed for my imaging technique. In my camera bag
I usually have with me my old reliable SONY SLT-A65V, with SiGma Zoom 118-200mm and Sony 2.8 /50 Macro I also carry with me OLYMPUS OMD, E?M10 Mark II andM.Zuiko Digital ED 14?150mm F4?5.6 II, plus for portraits M.Zuiko Digital 45mm F1.8 If I don't happen to have my cameras with me, I always have my mobile IPhone 8 Plus with me to take photos.Feedback
My only advice to anyone taking photos in the nature is to look around, see the beauty around you. Take care with the framing of the topic, that is in my opinion the most elementary thing when taking pictures and that you take to consideration the time of the day, so light lets you play with light and shadows, so that you get depth in the shot.
