Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Finland, at Helsinki Korkeasaari Zoo during a beautiful summer sday.

Time

the sun was shining and it was nice and warm, the light was not harsh as we were already few hours into the afternoon..

Lighting

The afternoon sun gave the photo a natural light, not too harsh but soft so the colors came out naturally. I prefer using natural light in all my photos as I like to keep my photos as realistic as possible.

Equipment

I took this with my Sony A65 and used my favorite lens when on the move.Sigma Zoom 18-200mm. No other equipment was used-

Inspiration

We went to the Zoo to spend the day and as we walked to brown bear area, they were a a great time playing and running around the area, running into the water pool cooling down running again and jumping into the pool having a splash and "fight " in the pool. it was so joyful , I had to try to capture the mood and fun they and the audience around got from they moment of fun.

Editing

I mainly just adjust the light and contrast to keep the image natural, to try to portray it as I see it.

In my camera bag

I carry with my my Sony A65 , Sigma 18-200mm, and Sony 2,8/50 macro lens. I have a flash but I very rearly use it as I prefer natural light.

Feedback

My advice is to take as many shots as possible as one of them just might be the one. Animals move so vast and have to many expressions that to capture them you need time, patience and numerous frames.
