Behind The Lens

Location

I was inspired during the first lockdown to explore closer to home, the seedheads of what people would consider a weed looked intriguing, but I wanted to explore how manipulating the image in photoshop would create a more abstract image yet still retain the beauty of nature

Time

It was taken in the afternoon outside in the garden

Lighting

I wanted to keep it more natural so I opted for natural light

Equipment

It was shot on my Canon

Inspiration

Spending so much time shielding at home meant that I was limited to what I could do, like many people I looked to the garden for inspiration

Editing

I did some post production in photoshop to create the twirl effect

In my camera bag

I carry my Canon 700d along with my 50mm prime lens and my 100mm macro lens. I also have a small reflector which I use when doing macro floral photography in an outdoor setting to help control the light

Feedback

Look for those things that you may normally overlook as sometimes they can be the most unique and explore different post production techniques.
