Location
The photo was taken at the parking of the Gibeau Orange Julep restaurant also known as The Big Orange in Montreal. It’s a roadside attraction in the shape of an orange, very popular in the city. This location hosts fancy car enthousiasts and many vintage events. We have been lucky enough this day, the owner gave us the chance to take our pictures in his magnificent Chevrolet Impala’s car.Time
We did this photo shoot at the end of the afternoon, around 6 p.m. on a beautiful summer day, in August. The sun was shining and gave us absolutely perfect natural light.Lighting
This photoshoot was done with a natural , soft and warm light. Nothing else, just perfect.Equipment
Nothing could be simpler for this shooting, only my Nikon 26 camera, my 85mm lens. A good dose of creativity, a wonderful model; her enthusiasm, her originality and her spontaneity. Voila, that’s all there is to it ! The best things sometimes aren’t things.Inspiration
Angie and I wanted to work together so we prepared this project as a team. I had seen a photo on Angie’s Instagram aka angiefactory (http://www.instagram.com/angiefactory) with her roller skates and I immediately suggested a photo shoot with her skates in the theme of Drive -Thru inspired from the 50’s. She would be my waitress on wheels. She became my Roller 50’s Girl. And we did it!Editing
There is a very little post-production on this photo and on all the other pictures extracts from this photoshoot. In natural light, there was no need to do too much, a few lightroom touch-ups and that's it.In my camera bag
. My traditional equipment for that kind of photoshoot is my camera Nikon Z6 with my 35, 50 and 85 mm lenses.Feedback
My best advices will be : use the architecture or urban treasures of your city to make the most of them for your shootings. Do not hesitate to explore the surroundings and let your imagination run wild. Take some risks. Try to find your true self through your art by experimenting. Be curious, be generous. All you have to do is create what’s inspire you ! There is beauty everywhere !
