Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured while I was exploring a section of the Bruce Trails near Collingwood, Ontario, Canada

Time

Out for hike one day in October. After a few stormy days, the clouds were still passing over. The trees had lost a majority of their leaves and covered the ground with beautiful bold colours.

Lighting

The sky was overcast in this photo and I felt it added a little drama to the overall image.

Equipment

I use a Nikon D5200 stabilized in a tripod to capture this shot and made some minor adjustments in Lightroom.

Inspiration

I have drove passed this sign marking the trail ends a few times so one day I decided to look it up in the AllTrails app. I read through a couple old comments and found a few photos.

Editing

I always shoot in raw and use Lightroom to make adjustments. With this image I decreased the green hues and increased the saturation of the reds and oranges.

In my camera bag

My camera bag is always with me. Camera, a couple of lenses, filters, batteries and charger, harness and my tripod.

Feedback

Sometimes it’s the trips that have the least planning that have the best results. Keep exploring.
