OBTRUSION

Thought. The process in which the mind visualises how we see the world, how we understand and capture information. The fact is we constantly think all day long. Now imagine your thought process being interrupted by random, creative and visual thoughts. The constant intrusion of invading thoughts occurring within the mind, this is how dyslexia can feel. Now It’s important to note that dyslexia is NOT caused by visual problems, and it isn’t the flipping of letters, or reading letters backwards, or mispronouncing words and it’s not related to motivation or intelligence. It’s the result of a brain with a different learning system that makes reading and writing more difficult.

Dyslexic people don’t really think in words. They do not filter their experience of life through language, but rather through images and other creative ways.

One thing I feel that really grasps how the mind works and information absorption takes place especially the dyslexic working memory is that it is harder for people to remember what they just have read. In my case this is very true and the experience of reading large passages or even small sentences I find that they just vanish from my mind and I literally can’t remember what I’ve just read. However, when you put creative ideas or thinking in visual images into the equation I can see clearly from one to another.
