The words hold you down. The words bottle you up. They tower above you. That horrible feeling. Breathe…,,Just breathe. You can’t just let those words distinguish who you are. You, make you and who you are. The nourishing growth of strength, getting stronger as we use our strengths against out weaknesses. The words just sweep over the top of your head. Showing and proving them wrong. No limits, just your mind. Being dyslexic the word that surrounds us can really push us down. “Stupid, different, odd, thick, you cant read, she- he can’t spell. “Can’t ,can’t, can’t! Why? Yes I may be different but so is everyone else in this world. No two people are the same and equally no two dyslexic people are the same either. We ALL think differently. Dyslexic people are intelligent and have different and amazing ways of thinking.
I feel and really believe in using strength against weakness. Yes I may not be able to spell or read well. So what?! This doesn’t matter as I use everything I have to push myself to my maximum in areas I “can’t” and this makes me gain strength and prove them all WRONG!
We do have differently wired brains but no matter what we push and grow our strength in different ways giving us more resilience. Words can’t hold us down and don’t make us who we are, they are just words. Look out there, at the world and think of all those successful dyslexic people that didn’t give up. They just and grew stronger……Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, all different, intelligent and strong in their own ways. The fact is, using our advantages and strengths against the weaknesses pushes us, helping us to grow stronger. Believe in yourself and think “WHEN, not if but WHEN I do this…”
