I wanted to wear something colorful, do my hair and make-up so I could get some practice shots in. I’m not going to lie but I also wanted to feel and look beautiful.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my bathroom after taking a couple of hours of getting ready. I was getting ready to go nowhere. If that makes any sense lol. On this particular day I just wanted to feel beautiful. I had some tough days before this day so I needed a little “pick me up” to make me feel vibrant and confident.

Time

After having my coffee and finishing my house chores I took a shower to get get ready. This picture was taken some time early in the afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting in the bathroom had those yellowish lightbulbs. You know, not those white crisp ones so I just angled myself towards the light.

Equipment

The camera I used was just a simple IPhone 12 Pro Max.

Inspiration

I inspired myself to take my own photo to lift my spirits up.

Editing

I did not do any post processing for this photo.

In my camera bag

Just my iPhone Pro Max Plus is all I need.

Feedback

What always worked for me is trying different angles and lighting. When taking your own self portraits, look at them and see what works for you (lighting, angles, facial expression, etc) so you can find the ones that doesn’t work as well.
