Location
I got this photo on a small beach near where I live on the coast of Ireland. It is called the Mussenden Temple and was built as a Library in 1785.Time
I had taken this photo around 5 pm in the afternoon, In order to access the area I had to wait for the tide to go out, unfortunately I miss-timed it as the water had started to come in rather quickly. So I had to capture this as fast as I could. Which actually was great as the water reflection really helped the shot.Lighting
I wanted this shot to be a sunset one as it always shines right along the cliffs and illuminates up the Temple. Also having the ocean water refect it with the sand underneath just helped to capture the beauty of our little coast line.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 1DX MKII with a 24-105mm L Prime Lens at an aperture of 4.0.Inspiration
Being an avid hiker around Irelands coasts, I love to capture something that means a lot to the people who live near that spot. This Temple happens to be a well-known landmark and thousands of people love to visit it every month. Capturing it for its beauty is something I thought should be done and I'm glad that it turned out so well.Editing
With Landscape, I always tend to add post-processing to make the picture pop. In this case, however, since it was such a nice colour already all I simply needed to add was a few tweaks such as saturation, contrast and shadows. In my camera bag
My bag contains everything I own in my photography career, so you can imagine it's somewhat on the heavy side. My main camera is a Canon 1DX MKII which has a 24-105mm L Prime Lense attached to it. I also have a Canon 200d which is just the body. The second lens I carry with me is my cinema lens which I use for filmmaking. This is a Samyang 1.5-35mm. Then I have my rode mic to attach to my camera along with all the other smaller things like lens filters and whatnot. On the side of my bag, I have just a simple tripod for long exposure shots.Feedback
My best advice would be to make lighting your best friend. Golden hour or blue hour have always been my favourites although I have shot a lot of others at random times. also getting comfortable using manual settings rather than automatic can make your photos extremely better! Then lastly, just use your eye to find a beautiful shot. If it looks good through your eyes then it'll look even better through your camera.
