Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at my home. My chameleon Pascal was hanging out on his favourite branch and I saw the opportunity to get a nice shot. I held a black piece of paper behind him and quickly shot his twisted tail.Time
It was shot around noon, but based on the style of the photo, this is not much relevant.Lighting
It was taken with the flash to achieve the maximum contrast.Equipment
My standard Canon EOS 2000D with the trusted 18-55 lens.Inspiration
I am in absolute awe of chameleons and I always admired their tail, which they use as the fifth limb. When resting, they “fold” it in this wonderfully perfect spiral, which inspired me for this photo.Editing
I adjusted the contrast in post processing. In my camera bag
Three different lenses (macro, wide angle and zoom), two ND filters and of course tripod and camera. Lately I also carry my Lensball if I get the opportunity to experiment a bit.Feedback
Animals make wonderful photo subjects. Observe them, learn about them and you will see that even a humble tail, a paw or a closeup portrait can be turned into a masterpiece.
