Location
This photo was taken at a public park in Spring, Texas. Right off the main hiking trail was a hidden little cutoff that led down to the creek.Time
It was roughly around 4:30pm. Right before the park was about to close.Lighting
Even though it was later afternoon, that day it was almost mid day harsh without any clouds. However, once you tucked yourself under the trees it was much softer and cast some neat shadows.Equipment
For this trip I was going to capture wildlife as its something I haven't really done. I have my trusty Nikon D5600, the lens I had on was my 70-300mm.Inspiration
Honestly, I work a 50+ hr work week as retail management, so I bring my camera bag everywhere I go just in case. For this particular photo I was inspired as the scene was much different than the rest of the hike I liked the lighting and the color.Editing
I generally always edit. For me it further feeds the artistic side of me. I'm not amazing at it by any means, however, I probably enjoy a much different way than most. To me landscape doesn't need to be the traditional stock photo look. If you look at this photo what do you see? Exactly how it would be when you walk down the hill brush in your face leading you to this amazing tree then the creek bringing you to the rest of the picture. Its a trip of sight. With that I like to ramp up color like the green and yellow in this picture. It's how I see it just a little more extreme than what the actual eye sees and let you into my artistic world of thought. Whew! That was long winded. In my camera bag
I carry quite a bit. Probably more than I need too. I carry every lens I have. A cheap mini low tripod and an Amazon basics large tripod. Extra batteries and some extra sd cards.Feedback
Even though I so far have never made a single penny with my photography. I suggest you take that picture to how you enjoy it. Yes, photography as general rules for a good picture, but, you can break those rules. The beauty of art is it's your idea of art and your art is just as special as anyone else's. You might just see it differently. Capture your beauty and if you really want to see how I shoot. Come on by Spring Texas hit me up let's have a beer and walk the streets and have fun doing something we love. Don't look at it as a job look at it a way to express yourself.
