Location
Originally, we intended to shoot on the beach, but this night was too windy. Eventually, we crossed the dunes and started shooting on a somewhat wind protected parking lot, observed by some people hanging out there.Time
Obviously, we started after sunset.Lighting
Apart from the fire as light source, I used a 600 Ws Jinbei flash with 1 CTO to match the colour of the fire.Equipment
I used a Nikon 800 with a 70-200mm lensInspiration
I love to freeze a moment and disclose what the eye fails to see. The structure of the flames is incredibly beautiful!Editing
In post, I corrected the general exposure globally and locally. I think I may have added some clarity to the flames.In my camera bag
What I carry depends on the shoot and varies a lot. At the end of the day, the equipment does not really matter that much.Feedback
Play it safe! Johannes is an experienced fire breather, he did a great job! Keep clear of anything that might burn.
