Location
For this shoot I met with the model (Leo) in my studio in Rijswijk, The Netherlands.Time
We met in the morning and started with some croissants before the shoot. As it's in the studio, the time of the day doesn't really matter for the light.Lighting
I used a single light source, a comparatively hard light in order to get the shadow right.Equipment
I used a Nikon D800 and a Godox QT600 studio flash.Inspiration
We were shooting last minute for an exhibition themed "shadows". This is one of the two results that were displayed at the exhibition.Editing
Obviously, I combined two photos in Photoshop. It's fairly straightforward, but the shadow required some tweaking in order to fit.In my camera bag
For a studio shoot, I usually use a Nikon D800 with a 85mm Nikkor. Alternatively I use a 24-70 mm Tamron or a 70-200mm Tamron. Furthermore triggers, remote release, batteries, model releases.Feedback
For taking the two separate shots, make sure all settings remain identical, it makes post processing easier. Be nice to your model and have fun!
