This image was taken during an early autumn walk through Monsal dale in the Peak District.Time
This was taken early one morning. My daughter wanted to come walking with me but had a university lecture in the afternoon so we left early with the aim of being walking before 9A.M. We were parked up and ready to go by 08:30 and the light over the weir was perfect.Lighting
I wanted to capture the autumn sun over the weir. Yiou have to time it right because as Autumn progress the sun doesn't make it over the tops of the trees to the valley floor below.Equipment
I shoot with a Canon 7D Mark 2 and for this shot used my Sigma 10-20mm lens on a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I love the Peak District, and as I live in Chesterfield I am only half an hour away from some of the most stunning scenery in the U.K. I have visited this area many times and try to capture the changing seasons. On this occasion the light was ideal and the glow on the autumn coloured trees was perfect.Editing
I made minor edits using Affinity Photo, editing for shadows and highlights, brigtness and contrast finished off with a final crop.In my camera bag
I try to travel for where I am going so tend not to carry all my gear. Usually I have my Canon 7D mark 2 camera, Sigma 10-20mm and Sigma 18-250mm lens and a manfrotto travel tripod. If I am going to shoot wildlife, or visiting an area I know I will see specific brids or mammals then I also carry my Sigma 150-600mm contemporary, although this is a heavy lens so I have to be sure I will use it to justify carrying it.Feedback
Just get out and explore. the light might not be right when you set off but it can change quickly, it certainly does in the U.K. so be prepared for anything.
