Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a cross country drive while I was going through the state of Nevada. It was February; despite the time of year it was an extremely unusual weather event to get snow in this area, and the Joshua Tree only grows naturally in a few areas. I pulled over on the highway to get some photos as I liked the unusual combination of the freshly fallen snow and the Joshua Tree together.

Time

This was around 2:30 in the afternoon, so light was good and not too harsh.

Lighting

Snow can be a challenge to shoot, so I set everything on manual exposure.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark II camera with the Canon 24-105 "L" series lens.

Inspiration

I was in the right place at the right time and was so fortunate that it snowed, so I took advantage of my good luck.

Editing

Very minimal color tone adjustment.

In my camera bag

I was driving, so anytime I will be in the car for long periods I always have my Canon 5D and 24-105 lens in the seat next to me.
