Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken by chance during a walk around a lake near Salzburg city (Austria) And while the sun was shining over the mountain ridge you could watch the fog receding, and I tried to capture that moment.

Time

Around 11:00 am. The low position of the sun corresponds to our autumn time in Europe and therefore a nice shadow play was created.

Lighting

The sunlight from the top left and the course of the valley created perfect lighting for the background and the fog at the end of the lake.

Equipment

I used my Canon 7D with a 15mm wide angle lens, freehand.

Inspiration

A photo is always a freeze on the past. the attempt to capture the spectacle of nature on this one day was the motivation for this shot.

Editing

I shot all my pictures in RAW, developing the pictures with image processing software. As here, too, the colors and lights are adapted. the background was changed afterwards.

In my camera bag

I am more the comfortable one and as such I hate lugging around with me a lot. I usually grab the camera with a wide angle or, if I'm really looking for a subject, the tripod and a zoom lens.

Feedback

As far as landscape photography is concerned, you should wait for the right light or choose the location so that as much dynamic as possible comes into the picture. And in my opinion, autumn is the best season for landscape photography anyway.
