Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo whilst out enjoying the fresh air of one of Scotland’s west coast sea side towns, a place called Irvine

Time

It was early afternoon and the sun was out but there was a nip in the air that threatened rain

Lighting

I love how architecture interacts with the light to give texture and shape to an image. I saw this stencilled iron work relief on a newly renovated bridge and how the light spilled through it to give almost its own sculptured presence. The shot was easy to take and what evolved was heartfelt

Equipment

My iPhone as usual. When you have an eye the camera can be anything

Inspiration

I think what inspired me was the knowledge that a good photo lies in the unexpected. If you look with better eyes then images appear as if by camera magic.

Editing

No. No filter applied

In my camera bag

My phone and an open mind

Feedback

Trust your eye. It never lies
