I took this photo back in 2018 through in Edinburgh Scotland up in the beautiful old town. Tiny high stepped passages ( or closes as we say in Scotland ) are a common feature of the architecture of Scotland’s historic capital cityTime
It was early around 9am on a mid January morning. The kind of cold fresh sunlight air atmosphere that catches your breath in the back of your throat but makes you smile, refreshed on the insideLighting
Something made me turn back at the top of the steep steps of the close. The sun was peeking through the top of the far buildings like an old fashioned street lamp - the mood like some gothic gaslight in the eerie silence of what murderous deeds may have gone on there before. Like a scene from Burke’n Hare - a famous tale from Edinburgh’s shadier past The light almost softened the cold edges of these stone tenement wallsEquipment
As I was through in Edinburgh for the day this shot only came from my Iphone camera not to be overlooked in the right shot circumstance for its ability to well capture a moment in timeInspiration
A composition is always my muse for great images Looking back can often reveals as much as just what you see before you I am always looking for how the light gets in to any frame What is being naturally spot light before me Here the sun the alley the steps the still airEditing

Look for the theatre behind the shot Theatre means the seeing place in Ancient Greek so to paraphrase the Bard “All the World’s a Stage you just have to go camera-play in it “
