Location
This past autumn I walked the neighborhood looking for vibrant colors in the trees and landscaping. While walking past an elementary school yard I noticed this young tree in the oarkway. As I approached it the sun broke through the clouds and lit the reds up beautifully. I was taken by how the gray bark and red leaves complimented each other.Time
Late afternoon makes for good light especially when sun breaks come through the clouds like happened here.Lighting
I hoped to get optimal color in the leaves from the late afternoon light.Equipment
This was taken with my mobile phone camera.Inspiration
I was inspired by the Fall colors in our neighborhood as they appeared to be at their peak color.Editing
I did a small amount of editing by pushing the saturation just a tiny bit to enliven the color. I also increased the contrast a touch. I left the temperature alone as I was pleased with it.In my camera bag
Normally I carry my Nikon DX40 and Cannon G12 when out photographing landscapes but this was just an afternoon walk so I only had my mobile phone.Feedback
I always look for great natural light. It can dramatize even ordinary objects or scenes and make them dazzle.
