Sometimes you will find the striking yellow flowers of the yellow goose flower, Glebionis segetum, in fields that are not overly fertilized. This composite is a real field weed that used to be very common. Nowadays you find the species less often, but always in open, sandy and nutrient-rich places such as some fields, but also roadsides or ruderal places where the soil is suitable and the sun can radiate freely. The upright plants grow to knee high. Common names include corn marigold and corn daisy.
