We were vacationing on St George Island and had spent a good bit of time mapping out what we hoped would be prime locations for sunrise and sunset photo opportunities. The Florida Gulf sunrises and sunsets never disappoint. This is one of my favorite decompression chambers and this sunset was a series of shots that would make anyone look like a pro.Editing

Been at this a while and have trouble letting go so I have a variety of Nikon bodies: D100, D200, D300, D7200 along with a number of Nikkor AF-S lenses. My Manfrotto-Bogen monopod is a constant companion.Feedback
I think it is always worth driving or riding my bike around an area to look for the best views. For sunrises and sunsets I look for places with good depth, objects in the foreground that will lead eyes to the main subject and views that reflect what is naturally seen by my own eyes. Once you find those spots that you're excited about try them in different climates; with clouds, without clouds, pending rainstorms, etc. A good view is a good view. Like my friends in real estate say...location, location, location.
