This photo was taken inbetween Blenheim and Nelson, on the side of the main highway. I believe I was standing on the other side of the road as well.Time
This was taken during late Fall/Early Winter just as the sun began to set. It was a lucky chance because there are large hills surrounding this area that would block the light quite early.Lighting
I knew I wanted the sun coming through the trees at the back to give the amazing bokeh effect. It wasn't directly coming through but there was enough to create the effect i wanted.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 760D+ my 70-300mm Canon lens.Inspiration
I've always loved horses since I was young and have wanted to get into Equine photography for a few years.Editing
I used Lightroom to tweak colours very slightly, brightness and also to remove the wire from the fencing. In my camera bag
Oh goodness! I ALWAYS have two camera bodies, My old 1200D and my 760D. A 50mm prime lens, my 18-55mm and my 70-300mm. I have a bunch of filters, lens caps, hoods and cleaning stuff. I also now usually have my Samsung tablet with Lightroom mobile on me as well.Feedback
Scout out places! Earlier we had drove past this paddock and I knew if we were coming back home during golden hour I was gonna get a photo. Don't be afraid to pull over (only if its safe!) And get a few snaps but please be reasonable and safe!
