I wasn't born in Asia, neither did have lot's of Asian friends while growing up. As a Ukrainian, born in a small town, I was as far from an Asian culture as it's possible. The closest I've got to it was the time when I was watching a cartoon "Jackie Chan Adventures". Time passed, and with the appearance of Internet in my life, I became able to see far beyond my normal everyday life. I've started watching lots of asian made movies, animes, tv shows, and slowly started falling in love with the East.
Many years later, I've got a chance to visit Shanghai with a business purpose. I didn't plan to stay for a long time, but, eventually, everything turned out in a way that I'm staying here for 3 years already.
Everyday I enjoy local food, meet with my friends, and clients. I visit local restaurants, shops and museums. Everyday I'm experiencing life in this fantastic city, country, culture and I love it. The topic is "My Country". But we don't only say it about the homeland, do we? "My country" also the Country is where you feel yourself in a good place. Place, that you enjoy, where you can grow, build relationships and enjoy life in general. That's why at this period of time, I can say that it's My Country.
