Behind The Lens

Location

This was in the sunflower fields in Woodland, California

Time

I like to get here for sunset every year. Good light makes these flowers look amazing.

Lighting

Like all things in landscape photography you’re trying to find the best light possible. It’s a lot of paying attention to the weather and cloud cover and some luck.

Equipment

Camera: A7ii Lens: Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 Tripod: FLM

Inspiration

Every year the fields in Woodland bloom and are incredible to go take pictures in. I love finding a good composition in all the chaos.

Editing

I’m this image is several images focus stacked so the main flower would be just as sharp at the tree in the background.

In my camera bag

I always have my Sony A7ii, Tamron 17-28mm, Tamron 28-75mm, Sony 70-200mm, FLM tripod and Kase magnetic filter set in my pack.

Feedback

Slow down and take your time. Find a composition you think is interesting and really dial it in. It’s fun when everything you want comes together perfectly in an image.
