A lot was based on the scene itself I live surrounded by fields and countryside. But, its all flat so its very hard to pull some interesting images when its all the same, this image is exactly the opposite and the dramatic look of the photo is exactly how you see it in person which i loved.Editing
I didn't do any real edit in post production, mainly because unless its for a specific purpose i chose against it because i try to get everything right in camera. I corrected the white balance on it and adjusted the crop because of an unfortunate hand.In my camera bag
Obviously i have my camera (a canon 5d mark II) I have a polaroid camera (a little fujifilm instax mini) and a 35mm camera (pentax) I use UV filters and a basic tripod and a lens cleaning kit because your lens will always gather dustFeedback
In all honesty i would say really evaluate your composition, look at what your taking a photo of, the last thing you want is to think you've taken a cracking photo and theres a random pole sticking out of the ground, or someone in the frame. And don't be afraid to take loads and loads of the same photo because at the end of the day if you take a 100 photos and only 1 of them makes it out as the only one good enough to post or sell, that's a win
