Location

This photo was taken in my Hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska. I often go out for walks in the country close to my childhood home, where there are wide open spaces and I can capture beautiful Nebraska sunsets.

Time

This photo was taken at about 8:30 p.m. towards the end of summer.

Lighting

Nebraska sunsets can be pretty spectacular. The colors change continually, creating unique images. The low lighting makes the bursts of color all the more beautiful.

Equipment

This photo was taken with the Samsung Galaxy S9 plus cell phone.

Inspiration

I am fascinated with the Sun. Sunlight creates such magical images, whether it's the beautiful diamond glints off snow and water or vivid reds and oranges in an evening sunset...I love it!

Editing

No post-processing was done.

In my camera bag

I am relatively new to photography and still learning the secrets of my Cannon Power Shot SX530 HS. I hope to master it one of these days! I have a small tripod as well.

Feedback

My advice is to take a long walk at sunset often. There will be many sunsets that are not that spectacular, but in this way you will recognize when an amazing sunset is in the works. The human eye sees the full beauty of the subject. If you study your subject enough, your camera will come close to capturing the full beauty as well.
