This Heathland Butterfly gets its name from the sub-marginal spots on its underside of its hind wing, has each black Spot has a shiny centre. The Female is brown and can closely resemble and be Mistaken for a Brown Argus butterfly ( Difference species ) but there is usually some Blue near the Body and the Orange Spots may be absent. It flies from May - August The Lava feed on the flowers of heather, gorse.
