Location
This photo was taken at "The big dam" at Mulligans Flat nature reserve, ACT. I was on a nature walk with my little family and this beautiful gum tree looked like something out of a fairytale in the eerie fog resting on the dam.Time
It was around 8am on a freezing foggy winters morning.Lighting
I wanted to make sure the atmosphere was captured in the same why I viewed and felt it. I am an amateur photographer but I felt Monochrome editing brought out the mystery and details the best from the scene.Equipment
I use a Sony ILCE7 with a Sony emount 50mm -210mm lens.Inspiration
The beauty from the tree reaching out from the fog and the glass like water in the dam made for a very atmospheric scene.Editing
As an amateur photographer I am still learning about post processing. I decided black and white editing would capture the mood and adjusted the black and white tones in light room until I was happy with the outcome. In my camera bag
I only have my Sony ILCE7 bit I always carry my Sony 50 to 210mm and 30mm macro lens whenever I am bushranging.Feedback
It you want to capture something special you can't be a fair weather photographer.
