Behind The Lens

Location

This is my girl, my Lucky dog. She is a purebred English Springer Spaniel. This was taken at my home in Colorado, USA

Time

As she was usually not very cooperative for pictures, this was a "lucky" break for me to be able to capture her beautiful face. This was during the middle of the day as I was always trying to take her picture. Every time would turn into a photo shoot because the minute you got down on her level, she would be in your lap or in your face, waiting and ready for attention. She was such a loving dog!

Lighting

All natural lighting as this was a sunroom with many windows and the soft afternoon light was pouring in.

Equipment

IPhone 7 Plus

Inspiration

It was a daily inspiration to try to get a photo of her. As I said previously, it could be difficult to take her picture. If you were to get down on her level, she would see that as an invitation to climb into your lap. It's been almost two years since she passed away due to health issues but I would give anything to have her climb into my lap again. I'm very thankful for these photos to remember her by.

Editing

Just some basic adjustments to exposure and cropping.

In my camera bag

I have been a hobbyist photographer for many years and gradually moved up to a full frame camera last year. Every DSLR body I have ever used has been Canon. I currently use a 6D Mark II with the Canon 24-105 f2.8 or the Tamron 70-200 f2.8. I am hoping to add more lenses to my bag this year!

Feedback

Always look for inspiration! Even in the simple or most ordinary subjects!
