One of a number of spontaneous , natural , portraits I have taken of my children while they are active in the real work of childhood , exploring the world around them with curiosity and showing the growth of their real unique characters in their facial expressions or activities while they were making memories on the go. These welding goggles were my own . My youngest wore them because she wanted to look like , and be like Mummy , so in a way this photograph is the same as any photograph of a child walking about in an oversized dress and high heels , testing out make up at a dressing table or following the activity of any parent by role playing in their clothes and with the tools of their jobs.
