Kirkjufell, Iceland

Time

Just before sunset in Summer, so about 11pm

Lighting

I was a bit disappointed that when I arrived at Kirkjufell, the IC nice most photographed mountain in Iceland, the skies were cloudy and dreary. Such weather is common in Iceland, but I took the shot anyways, and it ended up being a favourite of mine.

Equipment

Pentax k3 II and 16-85mm with a basic tripod and ND filter.

Inspiration

You always see this mountain at the same angle, and I was defined to find a different composition.

Editing

Yes, enhanced the clouds a bit, and did some minor color adjustments.

In my camera bag

ND filter, tripod and extra batteries!

Feedback

Take the shot from the most popular angle, but then try and find something that you don't see anyone else doing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but getting low to the ground is often worth the extra effort.
