Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken from the Rockefeller building rooftop, NY.

Time

I remember it was in the afternoon.

Lighting

I used the daylight. it was a quick shot. I controlled aperture and speed. I don’t remember what measures I used. There was no time to record it. I only thought it was the perfect light for the moment.

Equipment

I used an old Canon AE. it’s an analogic camera and I used a Kodak Film.

Inspiration

I was visiting New York for the first time in years. I was overwhelmed by the size and height of the buildings. I wanted people who see the photo to feel the immensity of the city. Also I wanted to make people feel the height. I think I reached my intention because when I showed this photo to a friend she asked me how high was the plane from which I took the picture….

Editing

Well, since it was taken with a Kodak film I scanned the photo and after I enhanced the colors a little bit to make it more vivid.

In my camera bag

Usually I carry a Cannon Rebel T3i, with a 55mm lens and a UV filter. When I used the Canon AE, I always carried a photometer. I also carry a 70-300mm lens.

Feedback

I always say that you have to be quick and catch the moment, if you like spontaneous shots. Be prepared to observe all around you. And above all, trust your feelings.
