The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a large inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough of the Kalahari. The water in the Delta never flows to the sea. This area is both one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and has been inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List. Due to the vast amount of water this area is home to a large diversity of animals, including many of Africas endangered wildlife species. This photo was taken in a Mokoro, local canoe used to access the region, on the night of a 47 degree day overlooking a Hippo Pool. Image Captured: October 10th 2013 Location: Okavango Delta, Botswana
