Location
This photo was taken in the fjord outside Drøbak, Norway, 30 km south of Oslo. I was looking for bushes of hydroids (small animals related to jellyfishes) as they are the favorite food for this snail. After half an hour dive I started spotting them.Time
I usually go diving after the kids have gone to bed. Happily this is also when most Sea creatures are active. This is shot about nine o clock in the evening.Lighting
I wanted to isolate the snail without showing too much of the particles in the Sea, so i used two narrow spot strobes.Equipment
When photographing small subjects under water, it is important to get as near as possible. Therefore i used a 100 mm macro combined with a +5 diopter.Inspiration
I love the sea and want to show the beautiful creatures to those wo don’t dive.Editing
NoIn my camera bag
I usually carry a canon eos 5D mk IV, 100 mm macro and an ef 14/2.8 L mk IVFeedback
Do proper training on your diving to be able to find the creatures and to keep ballanced when photographing.
