I have now been on two different trips to places where you can see the Northern Lights - Alaska, back in October 2019, and Iceland, in March 2018. Both trips the lights were only visible to the naked eye as gray wisps of cloud, and a strong camera was necessary to capture any kind of color. But since a chance to photograph the Aurora was one of the ultimate goals of the trip, I went prepared.
