Behind The Lens

Location

This image was captured late in the evening from the summit of the Western Valley Road on Banks Peninsula, New Zealand. The aspect is looking east as the Milky Way rises.

Time

This image was taken about 2 a.m.

Lighting

A cold clear night with no moon or nearby light pollution. This image was taken in a very remote location.

Equipment

Use of tripod, Olympus OM-D E-M1 and Wide angle lens at ISO 3200 f2.8

Inspiration

A photo of chance!

Editing

Yes I had to do some post work on this image as the RAW file was quite noisy.

In my camera bag

It depends on the type of photography at the time. Normally either the Olympus E-M1 Mk1 / Mk2 camera with a 12 -40 mm and 14 -150 mm lenses

Feedback

Patience is a virtue with this type of photography. I am still learning. Take your time and scout your locations prior to the shoot.
