Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my home town Scarborough, UK. It is along the south bay but away from the main tourist part.

Time

It was during the sunrise on 22nd January 2019. I remember it was quite a fresh morning!

Lighting

I noticed the line of light emerging and could see the contrast in colours appearing. That's why I went for a long exposure shot to smooth out the image.

Equipment

This was shot from a Canon 1200D at 10mm, F6.3, 110 seconds, ISO 100.

Inspiration

I've seen various other images taken at this location and that made me want to have a go myself.

Editing

As with all my Landscape shots, all I do is play with the highlights and shadows and a bit of contrast. I do very little editing if I can help it!

In my camera bag

My Canon 1200D, tripod, my 10-18mm lens, 50mm lens, 70-200mm lens and my glass ball.

Feedback

As with most landscape photography, you have to be patient. You might go and take the same shot, at the same place, same time every day and it will never be the same but once you get that one shot then it makes it all worth while.
