Location
This photo was taken near the side of a highway. Large bush of bougainvillea with many colors that I had my model near or in.Time
It was late afternoon when I shot this. The sun was still too high so I had the model stand in the flowers to avoid that harsh light.Lighting
I love backlighting and the sun was also lighting the flowers beautifully. We found a good spot that framed her face.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5d Mark III with a Sigma 85mm art lens. I also had a reflector but didn't use it here.Inspiration
I was scouting shooting locations and happened upon this large cluster of bougainvillea bushes near a highway. There were several different colored flowers on each bush. When I got my model there we moved about each bush changing wardrobe and shooting position to math the colors and lighting. The flowers were truly amazing and and provided a wonderful backdrop for my beautiful model.Editing
I did very little editing with this photo. High frequency separation for skin and some sharpening on the eyes.In my camera bag
I now have my "standard" set up for portrait shooting. My bag will always have my Canon 5d Mark III body, a Canon 24-105mm lens . Along with a Canon 50mm 1.4 and a Sigma 85 1.4 I also carry a Good V1 flash.Feedback
Beauty can found and isolated for a photo even when next to a trash strewn highway.
