Location
I took this photo in my garden at home. Because I'm an amateur photographer and under lockdown at the moment, everything is coming from inside the property.Time
This was taken at about 3:30am. Since I am a night owl, I do alot in the dark and try and use the already existing lighting around, challenging myself to find new perspectives.Lighting
All the lighting here was already "set up", as I did not need to move anything or add anything to create the composition. The light here is from an outside bulkhead light, mounted high up to light the garden for security.Equipment
My entry level Canon EOS 1300D on a very basic tripod since it was outside in the dark with a longer exposure, I desperately needed the stability.Inspiration
Looking around the garden through my camera, I liked how the light almost glowed off the edges of the plant, and I knew with very little manipulation, I could emphasize those edges.Editing
I often do very basic post-processing, mostly just adjusting the lighting and balance of the photo. This was even more basic and I endured to not over-process and ruin it, so I just adjusted the brightness, contrast and a touch of colour intensity, and then ran a reduce noise filter to remove some of that nuisance. In my camera bag
In my bag? Haha, I don't really have a bag, but I'll normally pack in my 18-55 kit lens, but now I'll replace that with my 50mm since I'm trying to challenge myself. I'll have at least 5 backup cards, I'm a bit paranoid about data corruption. And then, if I'm not on my bike, I'll try and lug the tripod with.Feedback
Just look around you, look at edges, look at light, look at shadow. Basically just open up your eyes and mind to everything that is already around you and use what is there, capture more by creating less
