Behind The Lens

Location

It was out on a highway in Alberta about 15 minutes away from the nearest town, and there were no cars for miles around.

Time

This picture was taken just after noon, probably around 1:00-2:00ish.

Lighting

The afternoon sun provided all the lighting I needed.

Equipment

I just used my little old iPhone 5s, I didn’t have any equipment with me.

Inspiration

I loved the way the the road stretched over the plains as far as the eye could see, and so I started experimenting with different angles. I noticed how my feet lined up so perfectly with the road and boom, I got this photo.

Editing

As far a processing goes, I was still a pretty inexperienced photographer, and so I just ran it through the filter settings on my phone.

In my camera bag

When I remember to bring it, I usually carry a Canon Rebel T7i, a zoom lens, a wide angle lens and a narrow lens.

Feedback

Go explore the prairies, there are so many opportunities out there, and there is a super likely chance that you’ll come across an unpopulated highway where you can play around with different shots.
