This Cupola Church was built between 1639 and 1641. The Church building is owned by the Reformed Municipality and is used for church services on Sundays and Christian holidays. The architect of the Church is Jacob van Campen , who is known, among other things, as the architect of the Palace Noordeinde in The Hague and the Palace at de Dam Square in Amsterdam. The client was Johan van Reede, Lord of Renswoude, who later also had the adjacent Renswoude Castle rebuilt.
The floor design is a Greek cross with short arms, making it a very compact building. Above the junction is the eight-sided dome, which rests in the church on so-called Ionic columns.
