Location
This photo was taken in my backyard garden in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, Canada.Time
This photo was taken at 6:47 on May, 21, 2017 under the late afternoon sunlight.Lighting
Late afternoon sunlight enhanced the warm and rich colors of the fur.Equipment
I used a Nikon D500 with 28-300mm zoom lens set at 105mm, handheld, at f/5.3, 1/320 second, ISO 800, no flash.Inspiration
The late afternoon sun really brought out the texture of the puppy's already shinny fur, which just cried for a photo.Editing
No heavy post done other than a bit of color and clarity enhancement. I reduced the exposure just a bit for color saturation. In my camera bag
I must admit that I'm an equipment junkie, for I keep almost every body and lens acquired. As I do not enjoy changing lens often, especially when I'm in the field, I keep my most frequently used lenses each mounted on a separated body, e.g. 15-30mm on a D750, 24-70mm on a D780, 70-200mm on a D500, 85mm prime on a D850, 105mm macro on a D7200, 28mm prime on D5200, 50mm prime on a D3500, 35mm prime on a Fuji X-T1, and Canon MPE-65 on a 6D, just to name a few.Feedback
If you like the warm fur colors, a nice spring evening is a good time for a photo like this outside. Use a large aperture around f/5.6 on a medium telephoto lens to blur the background.
