Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from my bedroom balcony. I live on the ocean front in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, Canada. This scene is roughly 200 feet from my house.

Time

It was around 4 pm in a cold winter day, roughly half and hour before sunset.

Lighting

It was side lighting from a low sun.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon P900 superzoom on tripod, at roughly 380mm equivalent focal length in 35mm term, 1/125 shutter, and ISO 100.

Inspiration

The popping sea ice coated by the beautiful light from the setting sun was just crying out for some photos.

Editing

No post-processing, as the P900 does not support raw. The photo was straight out of the camera.

In my camera bag

My equipment includes most of the contemporary Nikon bodies, such as D3500, D5200, D7200, D500, D750, D780, D850, and P1000, plus 20 some lenses including Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, etc.

Feedback

Definitely use a tripod. Self timer or cable release is also advised.
