Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania.

Time

This was taking in the late morning sometime around 10:00 AM.

Lighting

The trees covered and blocked out much of the light causing flat lighting conditions. This left the area's where the sun broke through the leaves to warm the photo in spots rather than the whole photo.

Equipment

I used a tripod and a Nikon D610 in order to capture this photo.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo because I was trying to advance my own skill with landscape photography. I spent all day photographing the various waterfalls within the state park trying to capture such an image because I have never tried to photograph moving water.

Editing

Yes, I lowered the black lines while flattening the overly bright areas in the photos.

In my camera bag

In my bag, I usually have my Nikon D610 and a Nikon F3 HP. I additionally carry a 35-80mm lens along with a 50mm Prime lens. I carry cleaning supplies, power bangs, and charging cords to make sure my gear never dies on me.

Feedback

Be patient and find the best area you can featuring running water. The lighting is always changing but if you can set them up together it will bring everything together.
