Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken outside in my carport which I have turned into her big dog house.

Time

This photo was taken around 10:30 am. on Feb. 20, 2020. I was outside just getting different shots and when I pointed it at her she hopped on the bench which she uses as her bed.

Lighting

I used natural lighting like I always do. I never use any other kind of light. The only time I use different lighting is if I do interior shots or shots at night, then I use a built-in flash.

Equipment

My shot was done with a canon Rebel T7 with a 75-300mm lens. The aperture was f/5.6 with an iso of 3200 for the lighting and having a shutter speed at 1/125 with a focal length of 230/1

Inspiration

I have take photographs of my animals all the time and with all the dogs I have had. All of my pets have done some kind of reaction to me pointing the camera towards them.

Editing

I never use any kind of post-processing. The only I do post-processing is when there is like graffiti in the picture and it looks tacky.

In my camera bag

in my camera bag i always have 7 different filters, 2 lens, the camera, note pad, and pen. I also have 2 different 2x macro lens, at least 5 sd cards and even a flash meter for my camera. If I go anywhere I will attach my tripod to the camera bag.

Feedback

The main advice I can give is just keep taking different shot. Always try different settings on the camera till you get the shutter speed and aperture at the right settings for that lighting. Never get frustrated if it don't come out right, just keep trying and never give up. Even the best photographers in the world has some shots that are flawed and they learn from that.
