Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Arataki visitors centre in the Waitakere Ranges, Auckland, New Zealand

Time

We visited in the afternoon

Lighting

The gecko was in a terrarium, the lighting was ambient indoors lighting.

Equipment

The camera if I remember correct was a handheld Olympus OM 40.

Inspiration

It is not often that you get a clean shot of these small animals so I didn't hesitate when I had the chance.

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

My camera, with plenty of spare batteries. I have recently bought a tripod so that I can experiment with longer exposures.

Feedback

Be patient and take lots of shots. Watch the animal and come back if needed. If your camera has a burst feature use it. However, this was taken in single shot mode.
