The picture was taken on my upstairs deck just outside the glass sliding doors. The bird had flown into the glass and was momentarily stunned.Time

The only lighting was normal daylight. By afternoon this side of the house is out of direct sunlight.Equipment
I used a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS, hand held.Inspiration
This is a very small bird, about 3 inches or 75 cm. They are difficult to capture clearly as they flit about in the trees around the house. When this one flew into the glass I took the opportunity to get up close without having to compromise sharpness using excessive zoom.Editing

My camera sits beside me at the table. I can see the birds in the trees outside. I don't use a tripod as it takes to long to set up and the shot is usually gone. However, I have 3 spare batteries on full charge.Feedback
Be observant. Watch what the birds are doing. Take lots of shots.
