Location
I took this photo in the client's home. I feel like boudoir clients are most comfortable in their own domain.Time
This was around midday.Lighting
For lighting I opened up the window shades, to let in some natural light. It was a rainy overcast day, so I also used one studio light with umbrella.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel Series 300D. No tripod was used, no flash was used, just a studio light in the corner of the room to fill the shadows.Inspiration
This photo was taken around Valentine's day as a part of a Boudoir Session promotion I was offering. The client wanted to give these photos to her husband as a Valentine's gift.Editing
I used Canon DPP4 to edit. For this shot, I lightened the shadows a bit, and smoothed out the client's skin tone. Not much more was required as it was a great shot SOOC.In my camera bag
I carry wayyyy too much in my bag, to be honest. I carry 2 camera bodies, 3 lenses, many macro lens attachments, a folder of filters, spare batteries for both camera bodies, copies of my contract and business card, a lens cleaning kit, and treats for children as I mainly shoot families and children.Feedback
Try to make your client as comfortable as possible. With boudoir photography, if your client is not comfortable, that will show and affect the end result. With my boudoirs, I bring the client a bottle of wine as a gift, they get to keep it if they don't want to pop it right before their session. I also ask the client what genre of music they love, and which makes them feel sexy, then create a playlist that is a mash up of both!
